Steadfast House—A Ministry of ABCCM

The Steadfast House provides shelter to women and their children whose life situation has left them homeless. Many of these ladies are feeling vulnerable and forgotten. The women’s ministry of TOF has been given the opportunity to be a part of their lives during their troubling times.
During our first visit in November, we took supper and a Chonda Pierce video. While some of the ladies enjoyed the video, we soon realized most just wanted to talk to someone who cared enough to really listen. So during our second visit on January 30th, we took supper, provided entertainment for five children and spent sometime just floating around and getting to know one another.
The TOF ladies got connected on a personal level with two of the mothers. Zoe is the mom of pre-schoolers Riley and Sarai. She is a Christian but feels a failure as a witness. Her husband is a Christian, too, but confused about how to live out his Christian beliefs. As a result he has abandoned them. Please pray this family will be reunited and discipled.
Kat is the mom of 19 month old Victor. There is no father in this family but a friend of Kat’s was trying to fill the role. Unfortunately, it has not worked out. Kat is very enthralled with her neo-pagan friends and rejects Christ. Pray that the walls Kat has built up against Christianity will come down.
Pray also for cousins Malachi and Destiny along with their mothers. It is great that these two sisters have each other. Their children are at that adolescent age where self-esteem and acceptance are big issues. Ask the Lord to wrap them in love and security.
All TOF ladies are encouraged to become a part of this on-going ministry. We need people to provide a simple supper, dessert or drink for the night we visit. Prayer warriors are needed since there is a lot of spiritual warfare. And, we need more TOF women to go and be a presence for Christ. Contact L. Dotson to see how you can fit into this ministry.
